俺たちに翼はない Review

So… One more review before I start on the 2nd route of Devils Devel Concept.

And guess what =D I decided to do the lastest galge by Navel.

As all of you probably know, Navel has produced one of the most famous galge in history, Shuffle!. Followed by a hoard of spinoffs like Really Really and Tick Tack.

There’s no exception that this new galge holds great quality and a pretty well done storyline.

The story this time round, is about a guy with Schizophrenia… And a very bad case of it. He doesn’t just have 2 or 3 personalities. Won’t tell you how many he has or it’ll spoil the story. In any case,  he has 3 that is being used in his daily life. One in the morning for school. One in the evening. One at night. All of them meeting different people and living in the different “sides” of the city (eg. the night personality lives in the dark side of the city).　All of the personalities know of each others existence. But since the real personality doesn’t want to meet reality due to some circumstances,  that’s why the other personalities are created and taking care of the body for him.

Now for the characters…

渡来 明日香 (Watarai Asuka)

She meets with the morning personality since she’s going to the same school as he is. Considered as the princess of the school. She and the morning personality is a “couple” only by name (which just means they’re not a couple in heart). She has problems of her own but that’s probably what makes it interesting.

玉泉 日和子 (Tamaizumi Hiyoko)

The only girl that meets mostly with the evening personality. Though she goes to the same school as the morning personality they don’t talk to each other much. She aspires to be  writer and has written novels (and is still writing them now). She has quite a serious personality. Also pretty clever but she’s a bit dumb at certain places (lol). She’s also working part time at the same place the evening personality is.

鳳 鳴 (Ootori Naru)

Only meets with the night personality. She’s the “sunshine” girl in this story. Bright, happy and hilarious are the three words I use to sum her up. Whenever the night personality is kind to her (doesn’t happen much) she will go ” is this feeling love?” lol. Has a load of problems of her own.

山科 京 (Yamashina Miyako)

She meets with the morning personality. She has mental problems of her own. She can feel extremely high on one day and be ridiculously emo on the next. She’s unstable. She also holds the only end that has bloodshed. I wouldn’t mind naming her kaede  no.2.

羽田 小鳩 (Haneda Kobato)

The protagonist’s sister. She absolutely loves her brother (the real one). But not all the other fake personalities. I’ll classify her as the cute character. FYI This is the lame part but apparently she wanted to be the protagonist’s bride when she grew up (wtf how typical)

So now for the system…

Since they have multiple personalities, they will HAVE to introduce them so this is what the introduction looks like. Different personalities have different colors.

Nothing very special about the talk system since it’s mostly the same as ever.

Choices are same old same old.

What i like a lot though is the new skip system. It let’s you choose whether to skip an entire chapter at one go if you have seen the chapter before. Saves me a lot of time.

The main screen also changes after a few routes. (im not spoiling it =D)

Hmm there’s also something very interesting. The protagonists look different when the personality is different. Only reason i can think of is that it’s more of what the personality thinks he looks like rather than what he really looks like.

The music was very good in this. Since you have different moods of each of the protagonists, the BGM changes with them. And most importantly it fits.

In terms of the H… Pretty decent but I wanted to skip through most of them since I wanted to see moar STORY. ._. Oh well… (there’s one tentacle scene lol)

Conclusion: Story based romance with lots of twists and turns. If you like long, a tad confusing and rewarding end galges play this. I actually liked this title a lot more than shuffle.
