Kara no Shoujo is pretty good, but the story is too dark and pretty much unreccomendable if you’re not into it.
Damekoi (世界でいちばんNGな恋) is a good game and I’ll agree with you that it’s highly recommended.
Fortune Arterial is pretty good, you should put it in highly recommendable :P.
If you’re looking for a different kind of trap game, ruitomo (るいは智を呼ぶ) is good.
Forgot to add, I think 君が呼ぶ、メギドの丘で is not recommended for me. Although it’s from Leaf, the game system somehow sucks and the story is not the best one. Try to get the CGs only.
Well personally I didn’t find Fortune Aterial extremely good. My taste differs from all the other people who’ll kill me for saying this though XD
Kara no Shoujo is very nice in terms of it’s story and theme… I guess not everyone likes that but people should really try it. I personally loved it. So much that I want to play the 2nd time. Which almost never happens for eroges.
Ruitomo is up there too… I was gonna put it into highly recommendable… But i thought the highly recommendable part was getting a little… long =_=;
君が呼ぶ、メギドの丘で is good because of the end… I liked the ending a lot since it’s just…. unended. Lol.
Still in the process of updating this page though since I have to filter through all the epic stuff and decide where they go… Just realised EF’s not on the list =_=; How could I.
Haha, then it’s back to personal taste I assume :D. For my recommendation, AXL’s Like A Butler is pretty good. It has a decent story and a loads of comedy.

I am rather surprised that G Senjou no Maou is on the list, but Sharin no Kuni isn’t, a game which came from t he same creators that was also toe to toe with the story quality of G Senjou no Maou

lol yeah. If the game’s too old, even it’s good enough usually, it’ll be rewritten by newer and better games.
I scared myself when I looked through your list and realized I had played every single one of the listed games, plus a ton more (wtf am I doing with my life…)
Some opinion:
1) Only aozora from Giga on your list, while the other 2 cafe games are just as good. Also, Baldr series and duel savior have extremely good story, although with more action and button mashing.
2) No Alicesoft?!?! (eats a kitten)
3) F/SN not found, although that’s a dilemma since PC version has no voice, and PS2 version has voice but no ero.
4) My own all time favorite, surpassing every other eroge by a mile, Muv-Luv series by Age soft.
Muv-LUV wasn’t good IMO.
The cafe eroges were good for their time, BUt after I look back at it…. well it isn’t as good.
Me = no fan of alicesoft
F/SN is Overhyped IMO. Tsukihime wins it by the mile. Though I forgot to put it there too.

That’s too bad I guess 🙂 Alicesoft is the champion of eroge industry for a reason. Every other brand occupy at most a floor in a building, but Alicesoft has it’s own building all to itself. Though I must say excelling in some of their games require hundreds of hours of real effort, not for the ADV type.
As for the Muv-luv series, it’s known to cause オルタ病 on fans due to the extremely powerful and overwhelming story, and make the sufferer unable to enjoy another eroge for quite a period of time. I suffered through this myself, and only recovered 5 months later. Didn’t regret it one bit though, this game was the thrill of a lifetime, and to anyone who can’t enjoy this game, I can only express my deepest sympathy 🙂
Tsukihime had a good atmosphere, but some of the endings were just omgwtf. Would be a much better game had they concentrated the story into fewer routes.
That’s why they’re remaking it.
And the reason I don’t like alicesoft much is not because of it’s ADV type. It’s because their stories don’t interest me. To me they look like they came out of the same mold.
I never did enjoy muv luv at all. Not my kind of stuff I suppose. Mecha makes me fall alsleep.
I see 🙂 You aren’t much into 燃え系 games then. No wonder… F/SN, Mecha and a bunch of Alicesoft games all fall in that category. Then you probably won’t like duel savior, ayakashibito, baldr and the nitro+ stuff.
Although I am compelled to clearify… Muv-luv is not mecha game! Part 1 (Extra) is school love story, part 2 (Unlimited) is… ok it’s mecha. Part 3 (Alternative) is full on war story, with everything you can expect from the best war novel in the world. It contains movie-like mecha combat, but that’s only part of the story telling. The real genre for this game should be sci-fi, war, and love story. Mecha is only omake.
Well I like post war kind of stuff more. Im not exactly a fan of ZOMG LET”S USE GUNSZ AND KILLZ EVERYONE.
Me likey sad stories.
And I did like nitro+ stuff. Sumaga and gekkou no carnival was fun. Not to mention Jingai Makyou. I did like Ayakashibito too. But that’s because of the story.
In any case you can guess what I like just looking at what I recommend right =P

I’m just getting into the world of eroges, well i mean actually playing them since my japanese was limited in the past, but now that i have a solid base i think i can. So do you have any recommendations for a eroge that is easily on the language but it still has a good story line? Thx
Depends on what kind of eroge you wanna play.
I mean there are tons of genres and everything.
If you want something easy to read though, I suggest 世界でいちばんNGな恋 or この青空に約束を―. Probably タペストリー －you will meet yourself－ too.
Those are easier language wise.
No kiddin’? 世界でいちばんNGな恋 had the most text compared with the other two, and not recommendable for a beginner. Though I must admit the story’s pretty easy to understand (what the heck I’m talking about here)
Length doesn’t really matter when it comes to language difficulty right? And yeah I have no idea what you’re trying to tell me either XD
well is kinda hard to draw a line between language and difficulty…i wouldn’t mind a good story if the language is easy to read (i.e using every day speech and a little intermediate stuff). Still, thanks for the recommendations, i will play them as soon as i can ^-^

Hmmm one I can think of right now is probably Akatsuki no Goei. Fate stay night has the worst protagonist (save Makoto) in eroge history IMO.
Well, I’m gonna have to disagree with that. Yeah, in Fate and especially in the anime his misguided chivalry was grating, especially the stay-in-the-kitchen stuff. But he is noble at heart, and Unlimited Blade Works really fleshes his character out. Not to mention in Heaven’s Feel he makes some very different decisions.

Could you write something about Shikkoku no Sharnoth? Not necessarily a whole review, just some basic info/opinion, and if you read it, some comparison to Sekien no Inganock (once again, nothing big, just whether you think Sekien or Sharnoth is better) in a comment. I’ve been interested in it for quite a while and I saw that it’s in the “Very highly recommended” section.
